Female Ejaculation Part 5: The Vagina

October 10, 2009

vagina-monologues-quoteBefore I go into an actual description of the vagina, maybe we should take a look at what the word actually means, because I don’t know if you knew this, but the vagina does not reference the entire female genitalia. No, the little package of joy that you can find between a woman’s thighs is in fact called a vulva. Vagina simply refers to the birth canal, and sadly leaves out every other bit, cranny and fold that can bring you pleasure. It’s not surprising that the focus is often put on the vagina when most representations of sex are phallic centric, but just because it’s had center stage for such a long time doesn’t mean it should be forgotten either.

Here is a little info about the vagina as taken from the pages of Female Ejaculation: Unleash the Ultimate G-Spot Orgasm

The vagina is a deeply folded, highly muscular, expandable canal lined with mucous membranes. From its outside opening between the inner lips, the vagina curves up toward the belly and cervix, which is the entrance to the uterus.

Normally, the canal is collapsed upon itself, so that there’s no space between its touching walls. When aroused, the membranes that cover the vagina’s insides lubricate. Then, it opens and lengthens.

The vagina’s deeper two-thirds have smoother walls with fewer nerve endings than the outer third. Consequently, this inward area responds less to touch and more to pressure […]

The outer third of the vagina, the part closest to the opening, is different in character than the inner two-thirds. Because it’s dense with nerve endings, the walls of the vagina’s outer third are highly sensitive to touch. […] These tissues are covered with ridges and furrows, especially around the urethra that transports urine out of the bladder.

I find it absolutely amazing all the things that happen to a vagina (and to the entire vulva really) when aroused. Although you’ll never catch me referring to it as a flower, the analogy isn’t really that far off and just like flowers they are all different in kind (dammit, I think I went to far with the flower bit, but you get my gist). Seriously though, for anyone that has ever felt self conscious about the look, shape and size of their genitals, I suggest you start doing a little selflovin’ and maybe look at some pictures of what female genitalia actually look like when they are not photoshopped to all hell. I went to the Joy Toyz workshop on female ejaculation today, and it was really interesting! That’s definitely going to be the topic of my next Vixen column.

Damn, that was today? I need to start writing things down in a calendar. Shoot, I really wanted to go. Oh well, I look forward to reading your next column.

I so wish we had facilities like those her in the UK! The notion of a workshop about female ejaculation just wouldn’t get off the ground here. We are so hung up on nudity & sex that the very idea of someone actually giving lessons is taboo!
I once privately showed a couple of friends how I ejaculated (they begged me to show them & I weakened!!) & they found it amazing. They told me it transformed their sex life, even though Thwife can’t ejaculate.

It wasn’t until I had mine painted that I started to really appreciate it’s full glory and the amazing intricacies of all the skinfolds. When Jackie Adshead.com painted it for me, the colours really did make it look like an exotic flower. You should go onto her site and take a look at all the different examples on there. Everyone is so different.

@Julia: Maybe you could organize one yourself! If there’s nothing available, you could approach one of the more woman friendly sex shops in your area and maybe contact a sex educator, secure a space and get some woman together to teach yourself and each other so-called taboo things like female ejaculation.

@Havingmycake: Thanks for the link, I really liked her paintings of women’s vulvas. The colors are great!

Woman friendly sex shop? Hah…..I live in a small rural town in the west country, the nearest sex shop is 40 odd miles away and the last (&only) time I went there with my husband I was the only woman in there & felt very conspicuous. I was shopping for a rechargeable vibrator & you would have thought I was looking for the holy grail! They were more interested in displaying cheap battery vibes & even cheaper quality porn. Oh, that and crotchless panties….very tastefull!

Ouch, well maybe nix that idea, but there’s a ton of amazing online sex stores if you are ever in the market again. I’ve listed quite a few in the links page, if you don’t have one already.
